Nate Picard of Beautiful Criminal

Nate Picard is the songwriter and lead singer for Beautiful Criminal, an up and coming band out of Los Angeles. They are playing at some of the most premier venues...The Viper Room...The Mint...etc and I wouldn't be suprised if we start hearing a lot more about them once their new album comes out. Nate hales from Colorado and when we found out that we would both be there at the same time over the holidays, we decided to throw a quick photo shoot in. There was this sweet looking old truck that I had been wanting to take pictures at for quite a while, so we headed there and get down to business. 30 minutes was all it took...it was all we had:)

I love taking pictures in Colorado....it's just such a beautiful place. Nate here's to great music brother! Can't wait for the new CD!

The Andrew Landers Project

Andrew Landers is like no one else you will ever meet...assuming you get that pleasure. The guy is a Talented musician and a heartfelt lyricist. He consistently fills bars and nightclubs and even an old remolded shopping mall. His music has only gotten better with time. He likes his beer light and cold, and his wings as hellish as possible. He's a wanderer but firmly planted as the head of six kids and a wife that puts up with it. He's an unassuming athlete who will woop you on any court you choose while being upset at himself for not performing. He's given me a hug and he's given me the finger. The antithesis of stereotype if there ever was one. I don't think there is a soul on this earth that he couldn't relate to or step into their world. So why haven't you heard of him? Well, he's been hoarding all that in the tiny town of Muscatine, Iowa. But I tell you what...you can hear him here.

In November, I was given the great honor of stepping into his world and attempting to capture it. I had a blast and I hope he did too!

Side Project

As an RD, you get to interact with a ton of students. At Geneva, that happens to be a great experience because we have so many good ones, but there are a few who's hearts beat the same as ours. Nate and Christian are two of those students. We love these guys. They are real, they love well, and they happen to be a couple of great singer/songwriters. They are in a band "Call of the Mild", but two of their members are off in Scotland for study abroad (such is college). In the interim, they are "Side Project" (Amy is the female). The other day, they agreed to be my guinea pigs. I woke them up before the sun and we headed out into the fog for my first "band picture" session. We had a lot of fun and it was great being a little more artsy with the product. Here are just a couple that we took.
